International Journal of Technological Sciences aims to deliver academic studies on the most up-to-date scientific and technological developments in basic engineering fields to researchers, engineers and relevant persons in accordance with nationally and internationally accepted academic norms. It also prioritizes the publication of both experimental and theoretical studies on multi-disciplinary methods and technologies and rapidly developing areas of engineering.
Our journal accepts studies prepared in Turkish or English in the type of "Original research article" that reflect an original research at national and international level with its findings and results and contribute to science.
It also accepts studies in the form of "review articles" that scan a sufficient number of scientific articles, summarize the subject at the current knowledge and technology level, evaluate and interpret the findings by comparison.

ETHICAL PRINCIPLES
The International Journal of Technological Sciences (UTBD) complies with Research and Publication Ethics, and for the articles that require Ethics Committee Permission, the approval of the ethics committee must be obtained and this must be documented in the article. In this document, information such as the name of the committee, date, and number number should be included. This information should be included in the method section and on the last page of the article. In scientific studies that include the following issues, documents showing the ethics committee permission must be submitted to the journal and the necessary information must be provided in the article;
- All types of research studies conducted with quantitative or qualitative approaches that collect data from participants such as interview techniques, experiments, focus group studies, surveys, observations and interviews
- The use of humans and animals, including materials and data, for experimental or other scientific purposes
- Clinical studies in humans
- Studies involving animal experiments
- Retrospective studies in accordance with the law on the protection of personal data
In addition, in case presentations, information on the signature of the informed consent/assent document should be included in the article. For the use of content such as photographs, scales, questionnaires, etc. that do not belong to the authors of the article, permission must be obtained from the owners of these contents and stated in the article. In case of using intellectual and artistic works, it is obligatory to comply with copyright regulations.
A study submitted to the journal should not have been published in another journal in any language and should not be under evaluation on another platform. All manuscripts are subject to the following international standards for Authors, Reviewers and Editors, based on the recommendations made by the International Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and general publication requirements.
ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF AUTHORS
Author(s) submitting a study to the International Journal of Technological Sciences (UTBD) are expected to comply with the following ethical responsibilities:
- The work submitted by the author(s) is expected to be original. In case the author(s) utilize other works or use other works, they are required to cite and/or quote them completely and accurately.
- Individuals who did not contribute intellectually to the content of the study should not be listed as authors.
- All manuscripts submitted for publication must disclose any conflicts of interest and relationships, if any.
- The author(s) may be requested to provide raw data on their manuscripts within the framework of the evaluation processes, in such a case, the author(s) should be ready to present the expected data and information to the editorial board and scientific board.
- The author(s) are responsible for ensuring that they have the rights to use the data used, the necessary permissions for the research/analyses, or that human and animal rights are protected in their studies. They are deemed to have accepted that the study may be rejected in the absence of ethics committee approval for the subjects used in the studies and permissions for experimental research.
- In the event that the author(s) notices a mistake or error in the published, early appearance or evaluation stage of the study, they have the obligation to inform the journal editor or publisher and to cooperate with the editor in the correction or withdrawal process.
- Author(s) cannot have their work in the submission process of more than one journal at the same time. Each application can be started after the completion of the previous application. Work published in another journal cannot be submitted to UTBD.
- It cannot be proposed to change the author responsibilities (such as adding an author, changing the author order, removing an author) of a study whose evaluation process has started.
ETHICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF EDITORS
UTBD editors, associate editors and field editors should have the following ethical duties and responsibilities based on the “COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” and “COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in open access:
General duties and responsibilities
The editors are responsible for every publication published in UTBD. In the context of this responsibility, editors have the following obligations:
- He/she should endeavor to meet the information needs of readers and authors, and in this context, he/she is obliged to carefully examine the complaints received from authors, reviewers or readers and respond in an enlightening and explanatory manner.
- Ensuring the continuous development of the journal,
- Carrying out processes to improve the quality of studies published in the journal,
- Supporting freedom of thought,
- Ensuring academic integrity,
- Maintaining business processes without compromising intellectual property rights and ethical standards,
- Demonstrating clarity and transparency in terms of publication in matters requiring correction and clarification.
The duties and responsibilities of editors towards authors are as follows:
- Editors should make a positive or negative decision based on the importance, original value, validity, clarity of expression and the aims and objectives of the journal.
- Unless there is a serious problem with the manuscript, it should be included in the preliminary evaluation stage.
- Editors should not ignore positive referee recommendations unless there is a serious problem with the study.
- New editors should not change the decisions made by the previous editor(s) unless there is a serious problem.
- Authors should be notified and returned in an explanatory and informative manner.
- The author is responsible for protecting the individual data of reviewers and readers.
- They should take into account convincing criticism of the works published in the journal and show a constructive attitude towards these criticisms. The author(s) of the criticized manuscript(s) should be given the right to reply.
Relations with referees
The duties and responsibilities of the editors towards the reviewers are as follows:
- Determine the reviewers in accordance with the subject of the study.
- They are obliged to provide the information and guidelines that the reviewers will need during the evaluation phase.
- Monitor whether there is a conflict of interest between authors and reviewers.
- Keep the identity information of the reviewers confidential in the context of blinded reviewing.
- Encourage reviewers to evaluate the manuscript in an impartial, scientific and objective manner.
- Evaluate reviewers on criteria such as timeliness and performance.
- Determine practices and policies to improve the performance of reviewers.
- Take necessary steps to dynamically update the referee pool.
- Prevent unkind and unscientific evaluations.
- Take steps to ensure that the referee pool consists of a broad spectrum.
- Ensure prompt correction of errors, inconsistencies or misleading judgments in the manuscripts.
Relations with the editorial board
Editors should ensure that all editorial board members carry out the processes in accordance with editorial policies and guidelines. They should inform editorial board members about editorial policies and keep them informed about developments. They should train new editorial board members on editorial policies and provide them with the information they need.
Editors should also
- Ensure that editorial board members evaluate the studies impartially and independently.
- Identify new editorial board members who can contribute and have appropriate qualifications.
- Send manuscripts suitable for the expertise of editorial board members for evaluation.
- Interact regularly with the editorial board.
- They should organize periodic meetings with the editorial board for the development of publication policies and the journal.
ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF REFEREES
The evaluation process of all manuscripts submitted to UTBD is carried out with the principle of double blind reviewing with the “Blinded Reviewing” system. Referees cannot communicate directly with the authors, and evaluations and comments are communicated through the journal management system. In this process, reviewer comments on the evaluation forms and full texts are communicated to the author(s) through the editor. In this framework, reviewers who evaluate studies for UTBD are expected to have the following ethical responsibilities:
- Only accept to review manuscripts related to their area of expertise.
- Conduct the evaluation with impartiality and confidentiality.
- If they think that they are faced with a conflict of interest during the evaluation process, they should refuse to review the study and inform the journal editor.
- In accordance with the principle of confidentiality, they should destroy the studies they have reviewed after the evaluation process.
They can only use the final versions of the studies they have reviewed only after publication.
- Evaluate objectively only with regard to the content of the study. They should not allow nationality, gender, religious beliefs, political beliefs and commercial concerns to influence the evaluation.
- Conduct the evaluation in a constructive and courteous manner. They should not make derogatory personal comments containing hostility, slander and insult.
- They must perform the work they agree to review in a timely manner and in accordance with the ethical responsibilities above.
EDITORIAL AND BLIND REVIEW PROCESSES
Editors are obliged to implement the “Blind Review and Evaluation Process” policies in the journal publication policies. In this context, editors ensure that each manuscript is reviewed fairly, impartially and in a timely manner.
ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PUBLISHER
UTBD, publisher ISUBU Faculty of Technology publishes this journal in order to make academic and scientific studies in the field of Engineering Technologies at international standards available to the public. In this context, UTBD acts with the awareness of the following ethical responsibilities:
- The editors are responsible for all processes of the studies submitted to UTBD. In this context, editors are the decision-makers, regardless of economic or political gains.
- It is committed to independent editorial judgment.
- Protects the ownership and copyright of every article published in UTBD and undertakes the obligation to keep a record of every published copy.
The editors have the responsibility to take measures against all forms of scientific misconduct, citation mongering and plagiarism.

Detection of a Situation Contrary to Ethical Principles
In the event that a situation that violates the ethical principles regarding the published articles of the International Journal of Technological Sciences or articles in the early printing stage, as well as the editor, referees and authors, should be notified to utbd@isparta.edu.tr e-mail address.
OPEN ACCESS INFORMATION
International Journal of Technological Sciences provides open access to the content of the journal by adopting the principle that providing scientific research free of charge to the public will increase the global sharing of knowledge.
REMUNERATION POLICY
All articles that have completed the peer review process and have been accepted are published online without any submission and/or review fee.
ARTICLE EVALUATION PROCESS
All research articles submitted to the International Journal of Technological Sciences are first evaluated by the journal secretariat in accordance with the journal rules and ethical rules. The articles that pass this first evaluation are forwarded to the relevant field editor by the chief editor and his assistants. The article is sent to at least 2 referees experienced in the field by the relevant field editor. During this evaluation, it is preferred to follow a “Closed Review” process and both authors and referees are prevented from accessing each other's information through the article file. There is an evaluation period of 30 days after the article to be evaluated is sent to the referees. After at least 2 referee reports are completed, the manuscripts are sent to the authors with minor, major or rejection decisions. Authors have a 30-day period for articles that require major or minor revisions. Articles not submitted by the end of this period are rejected. After the corrections requested by the referees are made, the articles are forwarded back to the relevant field editor for evaluation. The field editor may send the article to the referees again if deemed necessary. As a result of the evaluation process, the final decision on the article is made by the Editor-in-Chief or Deputy Editors-in-Chief based on the opinions of the referees and the Field Editor. The average acceptance time of an article submitted to the journal is 150 (±90) days.
PLAGIARISM CHECK
All manuscripts submitted to our journal must be checked using a valid plagiarism detection software. The similarity report produced by the authors should be uploaded as a file during the initial submission of the manuscript. The overall similarity rate of the articles (after removing references and addresses) should not exceed 20%. Each individual similarity rate should not exceed 3%. The works of the researchers who upload articles through the Dergipark system will be accepted for evaluation in the pre-checking process according to similarity rates, compliance with the spelling rules, and compliance with the scope and publication policy of the journal. In addition, authors must comply with other ethical rules such as Plagiarism, Fabrication, Falsification and Duplication. The responsibility for these issues belongs to the author.
All scientific responsibility for the articles published in our journal belongs to the author(s). The editor, associate editor and publisher do not accept any responsibility for the articles published in the journal.
No submission/evaluation or processing fee is requested from the articles submitted to our journal, starting from the application.
